About me and my therapy practice

I am an Integrative Therapist, using EMDR, Psychodynamic, CBT, Solution Focussed approaches, all underpinned by Person-Centred principles. I have worked as a therapist full-time since qualifying.  I have extensive experience of working with individuals around all issues and I specialise in therapy with clients experiencing difficulties such as addictions, abuse and trauma.

My Supervision training was with Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy, taught by Bob Cooke, and used the Seven Eyed Model of Supervision (Hawkins and Shoet, 1989) and the IDM Developmental Model of Supervision (Erskine, Delworth and Stoltenburg).

Prior to training as a therapist I worked as a Manager in Children's Services, supervising Family Support Workers and I also bring this experience, ensuring that safe and ethical practice underpins all considerations.

Practice description

I work to high professional standards and I bring my experience of integrating various therapeutic approaches to my work with supervisees. I understand that working as a therapist is emotionally demanding and I provide supervision that is nurturing and supportive, whilst allowing for challenge. My approach is non-judgemental, empathic and focussed on empowering you to be the most effective therapist that you can be, ensuring good life/work balance. I offer appointments online (using Zoom) at flexible times so that you can access the support that I can provide from the comfort of your own home.

My key areas of interest are addictions, abuse, including domestic abuse, and childhood trauma. I work to the BACP Code of Ethics for the Counselling Professions and in accordance with this I have regular clinical supervision for all my work.

My first session

In your first session, we will get to know each other and I will ask you about the way you like to work.

Sessions can be either 1 hour (£50) or 1.5 hours (£75).

All Supervision sessions are online and Zoom is my preferred platform.

Please drop me an email and we can arrange an initial telephone consultation to see if we would be a good fit.
