About me and my therapy practice
We all hold within us the potential to thrive, my aim is to support you in achieving this so you can live a happier and more fulfilling life going forwards, whatever you have faced in the past.
Connecting with our emotions can help us better understand, process and heal from the challenges in life that negatively impact our wellbeing. Too often we try to (or feel we should) do this alone, leaving us isolated in our suffering.
In our sessions, we will gently and compassionately explore your situation together in a supportive and safe environment to help empower you to make the changes you wish to make.
I have been described as friendly, calming and compassionate. I was drawn to becoming a counsellor after experiencing first-hand how helpful counselling can be.
I learnt that I don’t have to face the challenges of life alone, and I believe you don’t have to either.
Practice description
SessionsI offer one-to-one Integrative Counselling to adults over 18 years old. Sessions are available in-person at a discreet office in central Norwich, or online within the UK.
You will be offered a weekly session at a regular day and time on an ongoing basis. This regularity helps the process as it keeps the momentum flowing and having no limit to the number of sessions enables you to continue until you feel ready to end. Some people find a few sessions is enough, and some prefer a longer term arrangement; this is unique to you and your situation, so will be your choice.
About Me
I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (BSc Hons) and hold accredited membership with the UK Council for Psychotherapy, as well as being a registered membership of the BACP.
I have experience of working with a wide range of situations such as bereavement & loss, depression, health & chronic illness, relationships, stress, trauma. I also have experience of working with younger adults (age 18 - 25) on issues such as anxiety, self-harm, self-esteem etc. having been a volunteer youth counsellor at MAP.
I come from a health & social care background, and in my spare time I volunteer for a cancer support charity.
My first session
Our first session will be a chance for us to meet, answer any questions you have, discuss what it is that you would like to get out of counselling, and to get to know each other a little. This is a full 50 minute session so you can get a good feel for what counselling with me is like. We can then book in further sessions, or you can go away and think about it.
