About me and my therapy practice

I provide solution focused short term therapy and long-term counselling and psychotherapy and work from the New Forest on Skpye in both English or Spanish. I am fully accredited by the BACP & a BPS graduate member.

I work with addiction, isolation, depression, anxiety, bereavement, workplace issues, men's issues and issues of belonging with couples and individuals.

I am psychodynamic psychotherapist, an experienced group facilitator and also run training events for therapist. I also use 'CBT' cognitive behavioural model and mindfulness if that what is required. Every person’s life situation is unique.

I have always looked at adversity and challenges as opportunities for growth, and as part of life's lessons. Having had a number of challenges and obstacles in my life, such as searching for purpose and meaning, I have had to conquer an unusual array of challenges. This takes time, determination, various resources and support, self-belief, creativity, and a helpful guide to navigate through life's often muddy waters.

What is counselling?

Counselling is an opportunity to identify areas where we feel blocked, over-whelmed and unable to make sense of life. The counselling relationship is a partnership to carry out an honest and internal investigation in a gentle, compassionate and non-judgemental way. It is an opportunity to be fully present with who we are, to understand how our minds and relationships work and function.

Psychodynamic therapy involves a process of a deep investigation on how early childhood effects our current relationships, sense of identity and belonging.

My training and experience

I have considerable experience in working with workplace issues and personal crisis. Having worked in the NHS Bereavement service, higher education university system and various public and private sector settings.

I have full memberships of the BACP and have obtained the graduate basis for registration with the British psychological society.

Skype sessions are also a good way to connect with people around the country and if you feel that this may work for you, please enquire.

Thank you,

William
