About me and my therapy practice
If you are feeling overwhelmed, lost, anxious, or depressed, you might find that counselling can help. I can offer a safe and supportive therapeutic space in which we can explore the things which might be holding you back from living the life you want to live. Seeking help can be a big step, but rarely one that you will regret.
I have experience with many presentations: anxiety, depression, loss, trauma, relationship difficulties, workplace stress, eating disorders, and many others. I can work with children, young people and adults.
Children and young people
I have worked as a Schools Counsellor in several Primary and Secondary schools in West Sussex for 12 years, but now also offer private work over the phone, zoom or facetime. I have found that children aged around 10 years and upwards can work well with me online, younger than that really needs to be face to face.
Students
I work with University students at a local University. Work with this age group can be very short term but often very effective.
Adults
I have worked with an Employee Assistance Programme counselling service and privately with adults aged 18-elderly. The presenting issue is frequently stress or anxiety related. However, unpicking this often leads to unresolved trauma or loss, and clients find they benefit from being able to make sense of their story, as well as thinking about how to go forward with greater resilience. As well as this, I have worked This work can be shorter or longer term; which means we identify achievable goals and work hard to develop strengths and resilience in order to achieve them.

Practice description
Hourly sessions are charged at £50 for daytime appointments and £60 after 6pm and at weekends.
I can work long or short term, and usually weekly meetings but fortnightly can also be useful. The foundations of my work are psychodynamic, and I draw from Attachment theory to help understand how relationship patterns emerge and grow.
I offer a kind, curious attitude which is challenging enough to promote growth but empathic enough to stay real and safe.
Working online has opened up new opportunities for therapy - it is now easier to access and presents more of level playing field. We can all be in comfort while we work.
My first session
I can discuss the work with you initially for free in a phone call before a commitment is made.
We can discuss the presenting issue, and get an idea about how many counselling sessions might be necessary. I am now offering face to face counselling, as well as online or phone. I have found that children age 10 and over can sometimes manage online or phone sessions, depending on the individual.
I use a number of measurement methods so that we can keep track on how we are doing.
