About me and my therapy practice
I am a Person-Centred Counsellor and Breathwork Coach, experienced in working with adults and children. I provide a safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore your feelings, allowing for personal growth and positive change.
Empathy, understanding and acceptance are at the core of my client work. I won't ask 'what's wrong' but I will ask 'what happened'.
As therapy progresses, I may draw on other therapeutic modalities that I have experience in, such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, in order to best meet your needs. I may also use creative expression if this is something you are comfortable with.
Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, parenting concerns, trauma, bereavement and grief or just a sense of things 'not being right', I can offer you a safe space to talk and feel accepted, leading to increased self-awareness and a greater understanding of your own needs and how to meet them.
I will support you to tap into your own inner-resources so that you can continue to reach your full potential even after therapy has ended.
I welcome clients from all backgrounds and identities, and I aim to create an inclusive, supportive space for all.
Practice description
My private practice is called 'Our Therapy Space' to reflect the collaborative nature of the work between myself and my clients. I believe in finding the right therapy space to meet your needs. This could be in-person in my therapy room in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, in-person but outdoors amongst nature, or remotely anywhere in the UK via telephone, video or email.
As a qualified Breathwork Coach I can incorporate specific breathwork practices into our sessions if you would find this useful. Breathwork is known for it's mental and physical health benefits. It can calm and soothe a dysregulated nervous system and it can also invigorate and energise. In this way it is useful in managing both anxiety and depression. The breath is a simple yet powerful tool that is accessible to everyone but highly under-utilised in an effective sense.
My first session
Initially, I offer all potential clients a free, no obligation 20 minute consultation. This is because research has shown that the strength of the counselling relationship between therapist and client is the most important factor in determining an effective outcome. This initial consultation allows us to see if we would be a 'good fit' for each other. We may not be, and that's okay!
