About me and my therapy practice

Life can be challenging at times, and therapy is a place where we can face those challenges. Exploring thoughts, feelings and behaviours, I can help you along on your journey, to turn a corner, gain new insights, and start to make positive changes at a pace that suits you. I am passionate about my work and will constantly draw from my experience, continuous professional development, and supervision to ensure a tailored approach that will meet your individual needs.

I am a qualified psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist. One of the many ways I work is with hidden aspects of your personality, to help you develop links between your past and present experiences to look at what may be causing you distress and how we can make changes. I also work usingmodern therapies, including psychodrama and using the Rewind Technique to relieve some discomfort from stressful and traumatic memories.

I work with organisations, as well. I have an abundance of experience delivering practical training to improve cohesion within and between teams. I also run informational training sessions with organisations around mental health and wellbeing.

Regardless of what you bring, as an individual, group or organisation, I offer safety, warmth and empathy, so you can explore any issues you choose to bring in confidence. Whether we work short-term or long-term, a trusting relationship between you and I is central to a successful therapeutic experience. If you would like to see if we can work together, please contact me by telephone, email (admin@psychotherabee.co.uk, or using the booking page on my own website.

Practice description

I can help you cope with a range of different issues, including, but not limited to:

  • a physical or mental health condition
  • difficult life events, such as bereavement, relationship breakdown, or stress at work
  • managing difficult emotions, such as anger and grief
  • overcoming negative thoughts and gaining self-confidence
  • other problems around identity and belonging, including issues around race and ethnicity, gender and sexuality, and more

I have the skills and experience to work with any issues that a person might bring. In particular, I have a lot of experience working with specific conditions such as autism, bipolar disorder, different personality organisations, including narcissism and borderline, PMDD, and more. I have had extensive training in trauma, both complex and recent, and I can work in a variety of ways - both modern, and tried and tested - to suit the individual. I have a wealth of experience working with young people and adults, including middle-aged and older adults. I am fully insured and have an up-to-date enhanced DBS check.

My first session

I understand it can be difficult to find the right therapist, so I offer a free-of-charge 20-minute initial consultation over the telephone to see if we might be able to work together. If we agree we can work together, each session will be 50 minutes thereafter and will be chargeable at the agreed fee. In our first 50-minute session, I will undertake a further assessment just to explore your past and present circumstances and what any goals from the therapy may be.

If you are a group or an organisation, please make an enquiry and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
