About me and my therapy practice
I am a professional senior accredited counsellor with over 20 years experience working in the healthcare sector.
I am also a clinical supervisor working with counsellors, students, well being practitioners, specialist nurses and other psychological caring professionals.
Many of the people who come to me for help struggle with personal worries and concerns that stop them from living happy & fulfilled lives. Anxiety and depression are common problems and can massively affect self confidence and self esteem, which in turn affects relationships, work and happiness.
My core values are compassion, ethical and professional practice and a real desire to help people reach their potential.

I am trained in several approaches -
➢ CBT - this approach looks at how your thoughts affect your feeling and how this then affects your behaviour. (This approach is recommended by NICE guidelines for depression).
➢ Person Centred - this therapy help you to get in touch with your feelings and can be powerful in helping with self development and understanding yourself; working through your issues.
➢ Clinical Hypnotherapy - helps with a wide range of issues - anxiety, stress, trauma, pain, poor sleep, weight loss, giving up vaping/smoking, fears & phobias e.g dentists, flying, exam nerves and public speaking.
Your first session will be an assessment and together we will agree a personally tailored plan, perhaps using a combination of interventions. Effective therapy usually takes several sessions and the willingness for you to engage .
Therapy is confidential unless there is a safeguarding concern.
Parking is off road and totally private.
My first session
I offer a free 1/2 hour initial consultation for us to meet and discuss how counselling (and hypnotherapy ) can help you achieve your goals. Also to make sure I am the right counsellor for you, it's important that you feel we have a good rapport and that I have the skills to meet your particular needs.
Our first session is an assessment where we can explore your worries, concerns and decide how best I can help. Together we will agree a treatment plan; therapy is likely to be a combination of counselling, clinical hypnotherapy and perhaps NLP - depending on your individual circumstances.

About me and my therapy practice
“I have a real commitment and desire to promote and develop the Counselling profession”.
I have recently been a manager of a BACP accredited service and have worked in the healthcare sector for over 20 years. I have now established a busy private practice . I work with adults and have extensive experience helping people with anxiety, depression, self confidence & self esteem, health related issues and complex loss & bereavement- all the significant life challenges.
I qualified as a Counselling Supervisor at Chester University (2014) and fully meet all the BACP competencies and skills. I currently supervise both experienced counsellors and student counsellors (approved supervisor with Salford University , Bolton University and Bury College) and so I am used to working with different levels of experience & competency.
Your experience with me will be ethical, supportive and educational putting the client at the heart of our work along with your well being and professional practice. I am naturally an encourager and aim to develop you to be the very best you can be.
I am able to help you with BACP accreditation application if needed.
I believe that the relationship with your supervisor is very important and forms the basis of good ethical practice and support. I am happy to arrange a free ½ meeting to discuss your supervision needs and to find out if ‘we are a good fit’.
I can offer evening, daytime or weekend sessions.

My first session
I offer a free 1/2 session to discuss your supervision needs and to make sure we have a good rapport. I want to understand how you work, your place of practice and what you need / want from a supervisor. I work within a structured model which supports you, your clients, your development and ethical practice.
Choosing a supervisor is an important decision and I will do my very best to make the experience enriching, educational and supportive - and of course ethical.
