About me and my therapy practice
Many of us face a variety of challenges and ups and downs throughout our life. Sometimes the support of friends or families can help us to overcome these hurdles, other times we can manage by ourselves. Sometimes however, this may not be possible, or some additional support may be needed.
A professional counsellor can help us to effectively explore or change something in our lives which may be holding us back or stopping us from reaching our potential. Alternatively, it can just be a space to explore any overwhelming emotions such as anxiety, depression, stress, bereavement etc. creating more emotional resilience.
Within a safe, warm, friendly and confidential space, I aim to create a working alliance in which we can explore your thoughts and feelings together in greater depth. Every individual is unique and so I ensure my sessions are adapted depending on your individual needs. Having trained extensively as a counsellor and attended counselling sessions myself, I understand the real difference it can make to someone’s life and am passionate about the process. I look forward to meeting you if you decide to take the leap and get in touch.
Using an integrative model to counselling practice I include a humanistic approach which aims to foster and develop a therapeutic relationship within a non-judgemental and empathic space. I adhere to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’s (BACP) ethical framework, ensuring safety and confidentiality throughout my sessions.
My first session
I offer a free non-pressure initial consultation in which you may discuss what you would like to achieve from therapy sessions. I will explain how I work and if at the end of the session we are both happy to carry on then we will proceed. If you decide that I am not the right counsellor for you then that is also OK. You can contact me by phone call, text or email.
