About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Ellie, and I'm a CBT therapist. If you've stumbled on this message, I can only imagine that you're going through a really difficult time. Perhaps you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed or just not quite like yourself and find it hard to imagine a way forward.

I understand that it can be challenging to break free from patterns of negative thinking and behaviour, and that's where cognitive behavioural therapy can be incredibly helpful. Sometimes we may get stuck in these patterns, and it can feel like we're tangled up in knots that we can't seem to untie.

But that's where I come in. As a cognitive behavioural therapist, I'm trained to help you identify those knots and work through them. Together we can explore the thoughts, feelings and behaviours contributing to your depression and anxiety and find ways to replace them with healthier, more compassionate alternatives.

I've witnessed firsthand the incredible progress that clients can make when they learn to recognise and challenge negative thought patterns, develop healthy coping mechanisms and take small steps towards their goals. No matter what you're dealing with, it's possible to feel better.

I know that it can be intimidating to seek help and talk about your struggles. I've been there too! Please know that you're not alone, and I'm here to offer my support and guidance. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma or feeling unfulfilled and stuck in life, I'm here to listen, make sense of your difficulties and walk with you whilst you forge your new path.

I genuinely care about your well-being and aim to help you feel comfortable and understood. Finding a therapist you can connect with is essential, so if you're interested in having a free, friendly chat to see how we could work together, please don't hesitate to reach out.

My first session

Your first session is a crucial step towards understanding your needs and goals. In this initial meeting, we'll focus on building a strong foundation.

Here's what you can expect:

Getting to Know You: Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. You'll have a chance to share your concerns, and I'll listen to understand your unique situation.

Assessment: Depending on your needs, we may use this session to conduct a brief assessment. This assessment helps us identify key areas to address in future sessions.

Setting Expectations: We'll discuss how therapy works and set realistic expectations for our journey together.

Comfort and Confidentiality: We'll discuss the therapeutic process, confidentiality, and any questions or concerns you may have.

The first session is a collaborative process, and there's no pressure to commit. It's a chance for you to see if we're a good fit for your needs.
