About me and my therapy practice
Are you looking for someone to talk to? I aim to make time and space for you to feel comfortable to start dealing with your concerns, to explore solutions, or simply to vent. The goal for my counselling is that you are more able to identify patterns that can lead to psychological distress, more able to challenge your inner-critic, or to be comfortable verbalising your experiences to those close to you. I encourage you to try healthy habits, new routines, and grounding techniques. I know I have done my job well when you feel more sure of being able to cope when things go wrong, and when you have found what works for you.
Practice description
I aim to help you explore your concerns, feelings, worldview, habits, behaviour and thoughts. Through doing this, you will realise your own abilities and independence to cope better with your current and future concerns. I offer Person-Centred Therapy, which is a classic kind of talk-therapy. It’s about the personal connection and moving you towards knowing yourself more deeply, making progress through exploration and becoming more independent!
I know it can be nerve-wracking to think about opening up to someone new, but we can work through these anxious feelings together. I assure you I bring no judgement to our counselling sessions. I understand that nervous feeling can make it difficult to reach out, and that’s why I offer a short first session to try it out, to see how you feel about the idea of counselling with me. There is no obligation to continue unless you choose to.
My first session
I offer a first 30 minute appointment for free. We can use that time to talk about what counselling could do for you, what we can expect to achieve together, and answer any questions you might have. After this first appointment it is your decision whether or not to pursue further sessions, so you only book the next session if you feel counselling with me is right for you!
