About me and my therapy practice
I am a person centred therapist who specialises in anxiety, depression, loss and bereavement.
With a level 4 diploma in counselling and psychotherapy, I am able to join you on your journey towards feeling stronger, less judged and to begin to trust your thoughts and feelings in almost any issue that you might be facing.
I work in a person centered way. All this means is that I will work with you in a non-invasive and relaxed way, while offering a good listening ear. We can work together to reach a better future self.
Ultimately, I believe that we all have the innate strength and willpower to work towards a greater sense of self. Sometimes it can just feel a little impossible. That is where therapy can help.
We will meet for an hour a week to help to organise and understand your thoughts and feelings, while working towards reduced feelings of anxiety.
Working both in person and online. All sessions are held in a confidential, neutral space. We can begin to explore your thoughts and feelings in a non-judgemental way.
Once a week, we will meet for 1hour which will be agreed during our first free telephone conversation.
We will sit and work on whatever it is that you would like to bring. Working in this way allows you to feel more in control of your sessions, and to build a stronger sense of self. As we work together, we will begin to build, trust in order to feel comfortable to work on your issues in a safe and controlled way.
We will have regular check-ins to see how you are feeling about the sessions. If there is anything you like/dislike or would like to do more of. To ensure that you are getting the best out of the sessions.
My first session
Once we have had our first call to talk about how we can work together, we will also arrange our first session.
I like to think of a first session as a "getting to know you" session. Not only me getting to know you, but also for you to get a feel of what it will be like to work with me. Just like in everyday life, we need to feel comfortable and safe with a person before feeling as though we can share some of our deeper issues or anxieties.
During our first hour, we will simply be in the room together with no expectations (you will likely be surprised at how the conversation flows quite quickly and without a sense of "plan").
Once we finish, we will check in for the last few minutes and see how you are feeling about things. Confirm our availabilities for the next sessions and get them booked in.
