About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome to my website.
My name is Kelly and I am currenly offering individual online counselling. I have a wide range of experience working with children, adolescence and adults, from diverse backgrounds with a range of difficulties. Most commonly I work with anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem concerns and with questions of identity,
My counselling and therapy sessions offer a non-judgemental space for you to identify what you would like to change. Whatever you are going through we can explore together to help you make sense of your experiences. I see therapy as a collaborative partnership that involves having an opportunity to explore your world in a confidential setting. Coming to therapy can offer you a comfortable space for you to unload the stresses of life in which you can experience being heard.
Being supported, valued and understood can lead to new ways of understanding yourself. Establishing and setting therapeutic goals can help you identify what you hope to achieve or accomplish. I aim to help you to understand what is causing and maintaining your difficulties as it is important for progress and recovery. I will be guided by you and together we can find new ways of dealing with the challenges you are facing.
Often situations in the present have roots in the past, my role as a therapist, is to help you to gain insight and clarity into the issues you bring. I use an integrative approach which means I am trained in a number of different models of therapy. This enables me to offer alternative methods of helping you and allows me to adapt my approach to suit your individual needs. For me, therapy is not about telling you what to do, it is about nurturing personal growth to help you to find your own solutions.
My empathic understanding and emotional connection with my clients is the essence of my approach that creates a successful therapeutic relationship. I view this as being beneficial in your journey of emotional and psychological healing.
My first session
Once you have made initial contact by email or phone I will offer you a FREE complimentary 20-minute telephone/video consultation. This will give you the opportunity to ask any questions and to ensure you are fully informed of the type of therapeutic service I provide before you commit to therapy.
We will then arrange a time and day for our first session which will be an assessment. The assessment will help me to understand the nature of your needs. I might ask some specific questions about your issues, your background and your expectations of therapy. Usually the assessment will take up to one hour and is a chance for us to get to know each other. We will then agree on a weekly appointment.
