Hello.
I am an Accredited Therapeutic Counsellor. And I am counselling via Zoom and/or phone. (Sorry, no face to face at the moment). I have a good range of mental health knowledge, easy to talk to and generally acquire a quick connection with my clients. I have good common sense and a down to earth approach.
I have counselling availability on Wednesdays and Thursday but can make time on evenings when needed. You are welcome to contact me for a small chat on the phone at a time that suits us both prior to the first counselling session to see if I'm the right counsellor for you. Looking forward to hearing from you.
About me and my therapy practice
Therapeutic Counselling on Zoom and phone only.
Working with people who feel loss, social anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, depression or feeling sad, confusion, unhappiness and trying to deal with life changing events.
Do you feel conflicted or you believe you have potential but the reality of your life doesn’t seem to correspond. Would you like to work on your self-awareness to improve your life and mental health? I offer a safe and non-judgemental counselling that is honest and down to earth, using many different psychological tools, including looking at family patterns that are sometimes repeated during one’s life. Self-worth and confidence building and looking at your place in the world is a subject that I can help you with.
I have a degree in psychology and two diplomas in counselling and have worked for both Relate (couple counselling) and Mind (national agency for people who have mental health issues).
MBACP Accred. Psychology Bsc (Hons) Dip. Couns. Grad Cert in Couple Counselling.
Practice description
My counselling is about working in a non-judgemental way, supportive and having trust in me to be able to express yourself. To work towards self-awareness and autonomy. To help and support your life and find a healthier way of living. My sessions are 50 minutes long, I am a member of the BACP and adhere to their governance concerning keeping my client's safe and informed with good boundaries and a will to help people with the issues they bring. I am mainly person centred in my therapy, but use many different theories to help my clients. We work together towards self-awareness and a clarity to ones life. I would ask you to initially fill some forms in with personal information and a statement from you that explains what you want to get out of our counselling and what you want to work on.My first session
The sessions are yours to express your personal concerns and what you would like and work on. We can discuss patterns of behaviour, how that works for you, what you could do differently to make a better outcome. I also listen to clients who are distressed or have had losses and are grieving. Sometimes I offer homework (optional), so you can work on yourself with my support. Looking at the dynamics between you and other people and work on relationships. We can discuss what your future looks like and what you would want your life to be. We can also discuss mental health issues as I had worked for Mind for four years. I also work with couples as I have worked for Relate. What I can help with
