About me and my therapy practice
It can sometimes be difficult to gain perspective on our lives or have our feelings acknowledged. In counselling I provide a safe, empathic and non-judgmental space in which you can explore pain, confusion and difficulty. I can help you explore feeling low or anxious and together we can draw out your innate resources to help you to cope.
As an integrative counsellor I believe a good counselling relationship is the most significant factor, and I draw on a range of techniques to help you develop self-awareness and self-compassion.
We may look at how the past has impacted on your life, affecting relationships and contributing to repeating patterns. I particularly value looking at family issues such as childhood neglect and emotional and narcissistic abuse, self-esteem, relationships and a loss of identity. We may explore how you are coping with transition, change, loss or a feeling of being 'stuck' and difficulty making decisions.
Please get in touch for a phone consultation to explore your needs from therapy.
Practice description
As an experienced integrative therapist, I draw on a range of different approaches, including CBT, existential, humanistic and psychodynamic, to provide therapy tailored to you as an individual in a warm, safe and non-judgmental space.
I work with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, work, stress, identity, family history, trauma, self-esteem, negative thought patterns, feeling stuck, shame, unhelpful behaviours and self-beliefs, transition and loss.
Therapy can be a space to make sense of difficult and confusing feelings and to explore the challenges of finding one’s place in the world. I work collaboratively with you to focus on your needs, so that together we can draw out your innate resilience and self-compassion. My approach is open-ended and client-focused, giving us time to develop a strong therapeutic relationship in which it is safe to explore your feelings and help you make sense of your life’s narrative.
Whatever you are facing, please get in touch to discuss how we might work together.
