About me and my therapy practice

Life can be painful, overwhelming and complicated at times. It can be hard to navigate challenging times alone, and can feel risky sharing complex, challenging thoughts and feelings with friends and families. You might want to protect them. You might want to protect yourself. Maybe you have differing views and needs. Perhaps you simply don’t know where to begin. That’s where I can help.

About me:

I am a BACP-registered counsellor with a degree in integrative-relational counselling. I have also had in-depth training in online counselling. I have experience of working with many issues including anxiety, depression, anger, relationship and family problems, difficult childhood experiences, grief, work-related problems including difficult relationships with colleagues, burnout and job loss, health problems, pregnancy loss, issues of identity and self-image, and neurodivergence.

I regularly undertake additional training and study to expand my skills and knowledge.

I am an associate therapist at NeuroTribe UK.

How I work:

As an integrative-relational counsellor, I draw on many therapeutic approaches, meaning I can tailor your counselling, finding what works for you and fits with your unique life experience. I am warm, compassionate and perceptive. I am committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space to explore what’s troubling you, and to attuning to you as an individual.

Therapy sessions are your time and space. I will work collaboratively with you, and welcome your input on what you want to focus on, and what you do and don’t find helpful, so we can ensure your needs are met.

Together we can explore what’s going on for you now, how past experiences might be contributing to your present difficulties, and what you want to change for your future. As we gradually build a deeper understanding of your world, we can identify and work towards what you need to heal and build a more fulfilling relationship with yourself and others.

Practice description

I offer short-term and long-term therapy to adults aged 18 and over. Sessions last 50 minutes and generally take place weekly, at the same time each week.

Face-to-face sessions are held in purposefully designed therapy rooms a few minutes’ walk from Surbiton train station, and in close proximity to a bus stop served by TFL routes 71, 465, K1, K3 and K4. Parking is available nearby. Please note that my room is on the first floor of the building, and unfortunately there is no lift.

Online sessions are conducted via Zoom either from my therapy rooms or a confidential space in my home.

My first session

I offer a free 15 minute phone or Zoom call before booking an appointment, to discuss what you want from counselling, answer any questions you have, and so we can get a sense of whether we are a good fit for one another.

The first full counselling session is charged at £50. During this session I will find out more about you and what you want to explore during your counselling. We will also agree fees for subsequent sessions. Session fees are £55-70, depending on affordability.
