About me and my therapy practice

I have been qualified in counselling for 10 years. I have experience of working with people who have gone through really tough times or feel generally down and lacking in confidence. I have also experience of working with people who have had significant loss in their lives whether this be through divorce, death, illness, separation or work related problems.

Psychodynamic counselling helps to make conscious the decisions we make and choices we act on that lie within the subconscious. For instance we may find ourselves attracted to the same kind of person, repeating the same behaviours that leave us unfulfilled and unhappy. We might feel we keep ending up in the same situation in life whether that be in relationships, at work or in our social life.

As the work progresses and you become more conscious you can decide whether there are aspects within yourself that you would like to change or not in order to determine different results in your life.

Psychodynamic thinking suggests that our early development can play a part in how we relate and form relationships as young people/adults.

Counselling can give you the space and time to work through difficulties you have experienced and support you in processing your feelings concerning difficult life events such as a death, a diagnosis, redundancy, childlessness, abuse. Counselling provides a regular person to share those most painful moments with.

I charge £45 for a 50 minute sessions
