Additionally I offer nature-based therapy which can be on other days as they become available. Carmarthen and Narberth areas.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a professional, qualified and caring counsellor who meets clients in an office - but also outdoors as a nature-based therapist. I am passionate about working with young people and adults who are "at a cross roads" in their lives, e.g. wanting to make changes; manage their personal and working lives better; be more creative, calm and joyful. My work with clients is informed by my experience in health, education and outdoor settings and my love of art, gardening and creative writing.
Having benefitted from counselling at different stages in my life I want to assist other people by using my skills and personal strengths to support those who are experiencing difficult times and want to feel better about themselves, their relationships and other aspects of their lives.
My core training has been in person-centred therapy. I also, where appropriate, use skills from CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and mindfulness training. In addition I specialise in nature-based therapy, for example "Walk and Talk" sessions.
In our counselling sessions I will offer you support and encouragement whilst you express what is going on for you and then help you identify, explore and tap into your existing personal strengths and resources to improve your situation. In addition I can offer assistance in learning and practising new skills which may help with your situation.

My first session
Sometimes in the first session clients just need to start to tell me what is going on for them. And this is OK!
I will generally have spoken with you about practical matters before a session. My assessment process is usually informal and done whilst listening to you. I may ask you questions about particular areas of your life when I feel this is relevant.
