About me and my therapy practice

  • My name is Victoria and I am a trained Counsellor and an accredited Interpersonal Therapist and I am experienced in working with clients with a wide range of mental health issues.
  • I offer a warm, safe space where there is no judgement to help you explore how you are feeling in order to help you gain a better understanding so you can move forward and make positive changes to improve your well being.
  • I work using an integrative approach meaning I can draw from many different models of counselling to create an individual approach to best suit your needs.
  • I am experienced in brief, short-term therapy but can also offer long term counselling if required.
  • I can offer sessions as frequently as you need and I work with adults, young adults from the age of 16 years and the elderly.
  • I offer a wide range of methods for delivering counselling including video calling, instant messaging and telephone counselling as well as face to face so you can decide what best suits you.
  • There is full disabled access on site including lifts and disabled facilitates.
  • My qualifications include:
  • FdA in Counselling, BA (hons) Counselling Studies and accreditation Interpersonal Therapy with IPT UK.
  • Please feel free to contact me for a free telephone consultation to discuss your issue and how I may be best able to support you. We can then arrange an initial appointment where we can meet each other and you can decide if I am the right therapist for you.

Practice description

I offer counselling in the following ways so you can choose the method that best suits you.

Face to Face
This is the more traditional method for delivering counselling. I am based in the Hartlepool area and can arrange face to face appointments lasting an hour. Disabled access is available.
Telephone Counselling
For those that would rather not use the internet but would prefer not to or are unable to travel there is telephone counselling. I will call you at the appointment time we have booked and sessions last an hour.

Video Calling
This method allows you to speak face to face with a Counsellor in your own safe space. There is no need for you to travel and would suit those that have caring responsibilities for children or elderly relatives that they cannot leave. It would also suit those living abroad or in remote areas. All you require is a computer, laptop tablet or phone with a webcam and Skype or Google Hangouts. We book an appointment time when I will contact you. Sessions last an hour.

Instant Messaging
For those that lead busy lives or cannot travel or do not prefer face to face, counselling through instant messaging may be of benefit. We chose a mutual time and I will then invite you to chat using Google Hangouts. All you need is a Google email address to access Hangouts. Conversations can be saved for you to re-read when you need to reflect on what has been discussed. The chat session will last an hour.

My first session

The main objective for your first session is really for you to decide whether you feel comfortable working with me. The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important aspects of therapy.

We will spend the session exploring your issue and looking at how best we can work together to improve your well being and help you move forward. You only need to disclose what you feel comfortable talking about. There is no pressure.

There is also no obligation following this appointment for you to make a further appointment. I will leave it entirely up to you to arrange the next appointment if you so wish.
