About me and my therapy practice

I have worked with clients across NHS, charitable and private settings in both short- and long-term therapies. My training and experience means that I am qualified to work with lots of different difficulties and with young, middle age and older adults from different backgrounds. These difficulties may include anxiety, depression, panic attacks, phobias, relationship difficulties, social anxiety, trauma, bereavement, and many others. However, you can come to therapy without a specific issue and may be interested in self-growth and development, exploring your identity, childhood, or goals for your future.

Practice description

I am committed to delivering evidence-based therapy from a wide range of therapeutic models and am informed by the latest research in the field. I can offer person-centred, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural therapy. I believe in tailoring therapy to each individual, and providing a bespoke or ‘integrative’ approach to suit each clients different needs with my clients at the centre of the therapy.

Over the years, I have completed many training courses such as, working with Dementia and Learning Disabilities, Emotion Regulation, Long Term Physical Health Conditions (e.g. chronic pain, diabetes, chronic fatigue and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder) among others. I have then worked with clients presenting with these difficulties to improve their quality of life.

My first session

I understand that finding a therapist can be a daunting process, so in your first session, I aim to create a supportive and non-judgemental space in which you can explore together what has brought you to therapy. I will work collaboratively with you to understand your experience, think about what you would like from therapy and create a therapy plan in order to support you to start thinking about change, growth and meaning in your life. I am able to accommodate online or telephone sessions depending on your availability and preference.

I am empathic and attuned to my clients needs and I will discuss with you your needs from therapy. With this open environment I aim to create a space where you feel able to discuss whether you would like to continue after the first session, or when you feel you would like sessions to come to an end.

I place a strong emphasis on ensuring my clients feel comfortable in the sessions, understanding that a strong therapeutic relationship is important. I look to create a non-judgemental environment in which a client can have autonomy and choice.
