About me and my therapy practice
I help children manage big feelings such as anxiety, low mood, anger, low self-esteem and grief using therapeutic play and mindfulness.
My work with young people and adults uses a creative counselling approach alongside mindfulness techniques to identify and manage difficult feelings and remove emotional blocks to happiness and success.
I also work with parents who require additional support with their own emotional wellbeing and their relationship with their children.
Practice description
I work from a large log cabin in my garden in Ashcott, a small village 9 miles to the East of Bridgwater, and have a practice room in Langport.

About me and my therapy practice
My model of supervision is an integration of humanistic and psychodynamic models of supervision offering congruence, unconditional positive regard, empathic understanding and attunement alongside an awareness of resistance, projections, transferences, counter- transferences and parallel process. I like to make use of creative interventions to raise awareness of these unconscious processes and develop a more intuitive approach to the work. I aim to offer a supportive balance of restorative, formative and normative functions (Inskipp and Proctor 1995) using Hawkins and Shohet’s 7 Eyed Model (2012) to help focus the work. My hourly rate is £45 but I am happy to offer a discount charging £30 to supervisees still in training, and £40 for newly qualified counsellors in their first year of private practice. My specialisms are working with children, young people, young adults, bereavement, systemic and family therapy and creative practice.
