About me and my therapy practice
During the current crisis situation in our country I am now working by video on line on the platform Doxy.me.
If you are not comfortable with a video meeting then I will work by audio either by phone or Skype.
My basic model is psychodynamic which looks at the past and how it affects the present. Understanding our feelings from the past and how they affect the present.
I also offer mindfulness which is based on my studies of Buddhism. This includes tools to help - particularly now in this virus situation that we are all having to understand and manage.
I offer long term open ended counselling as well as short term.
I also work with couples.
I work from home, the village of Farringdon in Hampshire and I have done since 2012.
I now offer on line sessions or phone counselling. We are living through a very difficult time and anxiety has become part of our lives. It is important now, more than ever to pay attention to our mental health to help us cope with all that is going in our world, in our families and in ourselves. Communication with each other is important as is therapy - we need to be able to express our feelings and anxieties and acknowledge them, which is how therapy may help. It is important to look after ourselves - and looking after our mental health is as important as physical health.
My first session
In the first session I would like you to tell me what has brought you to counselling, a little about your issues and problems and what you would like to gain from counselling.
You need to feel you would be comfortable working with me. Likewise I need to feel that I would be able to help you.
