About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling anxious or experiencing low mood? Do you need a safe space to work through your thoughts and make difficult decisions? Is there something that you need to talk about, but don’t want to talk to friends or family about it right now?  Counselling may offer the opportunity that you are seeking.

As an individual, I am warm, calm and mature.  I seek to create a counselling environment in which you feel both safe and comfortable to speak and share your concerns, whilst also enabling you to challenge yourself to provide the insight and change that you wish to achieve.

I am an integrative counsellor. This means that my counselling approach and techniques will be led by your needs and the topics you wish to work through.  This may involve elements of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Gestalt and psychodynamic approaches. It will always involve a confidential, empathic and non-judgemental environment.

My counselling experience is varied, having supported adults, children and young people over the last 7 years. I have worked regularly with clients experiencing (amongst other things) anxiety, depression, grief & loss, domestic abuse, low self-esteem, family/relationship difficulties, work issues  and identity issues.

I have worked within Cruse Bereavement services and have also supported young people in primary and secondary school, as well as FE college as a school/college based counsellor. I have previously worked as an approved therapist with Anxiety UK and have experience working alongside the military and can offer support in this context.

Above all, my aim is always to provide you with a calm and safe space to share your thoughts and experiences, helping you to work through the issues that are causing concern or disruption to your life. allowing you to find the insight that you need to make the changes you desire.
