About me and my therapy practice
I offer a warm, non-judgemental space to unpack whatever is weighing you down, at a pace that feels safe for you. I work in an integrative way; meaning I draw on teachings from a range of theoretical approaches - primarily person-centred practice, some psychoanalytical work and, if it feels right, occasionally using techniques used in cognitive behavioral therapy (commonly known as CBT). If that all sounds like a load of jargon to you - that's OK, I will take time to ensure that therapy is a collaborative process and you should never feel you are having counselling 'done' to you without understanding what's going on in the room. The way I work puts you in the center and you will be in control of what happens. This feels important to me, as so often life works to take that control away from us and this can feel overwhelming.
I will not push ideas onto you, or give you lots of advice - I am not a life coach. Instead of turning on the light for you, I will not shy away from stepping into the dark alongside you so that we both may work together to find the switch.
