About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Faye and I'm a fully Qualified registered Counsellor.
Helping people through difficult times is my passion, and there is nothing more beautiful than seeing someone becoming empowered and having the confidence to embrace themselves authentically and fully, and being able to move forward to a happier and more rewarding life and mind-set.
I am warm, friendly, open-minded, accepting and non-judgemental. I provide a confidential and safe-space for you to explore your emotions and what is going on for you, and I will be with you through every step of our Counselling journey together.
I primarily work as a Person-centred Counsellor, which means that I believe you are the expert of you, but I have also trained in other methods of Counselling and can bring these to our Therapy sessions if we feel it is what is best for you as an individual.
I aim to help you explore and process difficult feelings and emotions (both past and present), have increased awareness and understanding of yourself, to understand what your needs are and to help provide you with the tools to move forward in life, to become confident, empowered and able to trust in yourself and to provide a safe space for change to take place at your own pace.
Practice description
Qualifications and experience.
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and I'm a registered member of the BACP. I have monthly Supervision, am fully insured and hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
I also partake in regular CPD (continuing professional development) which has so far included:
- One day workshop on working with long-term illness
Centre of Excellence online courses in the following;
- Inner Child Healing
- Transactional Analysis
- Pet Bereavement Counselling
- Domestic abuse and violence awareness
- Advanced CBT
During my Counselling training (and post qualification) I volunteered for over 2 years as a Counsellor at Age UK, Wirral. During this time I worked with a diverse range of Clients and have experience of working with anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties, gender and sexuality, anger, abuse, addictions and trauma.
Pet Bereavement Counselling.
I have also spent the last 5 years working as a Veterinary Receptionist in a very busy Practice. Throughout this time I have realised that there is a real need for, and also lack of, Pet Bereavement Counsellors. There is often some degree of shame about grieving for a pet, and particularly a lack of empathy and understanding from others over how devastating the loss of a pet can be. Having been there myself, and also witnessed on a regular basis how hard it can be to lose your beloved companion (from receiving a devastating diagnosis, making that difficult decision and the loss that follows) I am here to listen. I understand. Your feelings are valid, you are not alone and I can help.
My first session
It's important that we are the right fit for each other, as building a warm and trusting Therapeutic Relationship is an integral part of therapy.
I offer a free initial 15 minute phone consultation - this gives us time to have a chat about what your Therapy needs are and to establish if you feel I am the right fit for you.
The best way to contact me is via email or text and from there we can arrange a suitable time for a phone consultation.
I look forward to hearing from you!
