About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative counsellor who works with individual adults. This means I practice using a combination of counselling theories and techniques, which I adapt for you. I offer a safe private environment where you can explore your feelings, emotions, and experiences. Talking about anything completely frankly and confidentially, from your past and present and your plans for the future. This is for people from all walks of life, backgrounds, and ages.

Life can become overwhelming and things don’t feel right. Are you troubled by family or personal relationships, social concerns, illness, chronic pain, workplace or employment problems, or simply careworn, confused, and trying to cope?

I will help guide you in a non-judgemental, supportive way, exploring what it is you are looking for and finding the strength to discover the changes needed for your own personal growth.

Practice description

Clients I Work With: Adults and older adults.

This includes people affected with a disability, people with long and short-term illnesses and conditions, those suffering from chronic pain, neurodiverse problems such as dyspraxia and dyslexia, and older adults coming to terms with the changes that the aging process can bring.

I offer counselling long or short term with face-to-face work, online, and telephone, I am also happy to offer a mix of all three. Walk and talk by special arrangement only.

What I can help with: Ageing, anxiety, bereavement, depression, disabilities, disordered eating and eating disorders, family attachment, grief, poor health, loss, neurodiversity (dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, autism), pain, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), relationships, low self-esteem, stress, suicidal thoughts, trauma, and work related issues.

Sessions: are one hour long and usually take place on the same day at the same time each week.

Cost: £50.00 per session. I also offer concessionary rates for the NHS, students, the disabled, pensioners, and the unemployed.

My first session

I believe the rapport between us is central to our relationship and I offer an initial session free of charge and with no further commitment. This will be face to face, online or by telephone and can be anything up to 45 minutes.

This is a space for us to talk about why you are considering counselling and what you would like to look at. We can discuss how counselling could work for you and enable you to enrich your life. Importantly, it is a chance for you to consider what working with me will feel like for you and help you decide how you want to move forward.

Talking to a qualified counsellor can really help. It can be tough asking for support and it is important to find someone you can feel comfortable with.

"When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves." - Viktor Frankl
