About me and my therapy practice

Are you struggling to cope? Is this a difficult time in your life? As a qualified counsellor I can help. My experience includes helping people with issues such as anxiety, addiction, depression, trauma, low self -esteem, and general difficulties with life events. I have an MSc in Pluralistic counselling which means I work using a variety of approaches and methods suited to help you at such a difficult time in your life.

I originally qualified as a dentist and worked in general practice for 15 years until I was unable to practice because of health issues. I have always wanted to help people whether it be lessening your pain or making you feel better about yourself. Understanding what each issue means for the individual and how it affects their general wellbeing is a vital part of that. Therefore, training to become a counsellor has been a natural transition to continuing these values in a different way.

I offer 50 minute sessions either online via Zoom or by phone.

My first session

I offer a free 15 minute introductory meeting. This is an opportunity to help you decide if I am the right counsellor for you. It also allows me to assess whether I feel I am the right person to help you. We can discuss your reasons for coming to therapy and what you would like to achieve from it, as well as agreeing on the way which we will work together. I will ask you to complete a short assessment.

This session does not commit you to any further sessions.

You can either call me or email me and we will set up your first session, during this session we will talk a little bit about what you would like to get from counselling, you can also decide if you think I am the right counsellor for you, we will also look over a contract then set up following sessions if you decide you would like to continue.

There is no definite amount of sessions you have to sign up for, counselling is about your own personal journey so you make the decision on what suits you best.
