About me and my therapy practice
I offer a free initial phone call as an opportunity for you to ask any questions that you may have about therapy and to give you a better understanding of how I work. I am a fully qualified integrative Counsellor which means I use more than one approach within sessions, tailoring your therapy to meet your needs. I actively listen to my clients with no judgment, utilising and applying the skills and knowledge that I have to assist in facilitating change.
Practice descriptionI offer a safe space with no judgement for you to explore your thoughts and emotions where I will support you during this time of self discovery. I have successfully worked with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, low mood, panic attacks, bereavement & loss, addiction, low self worth, relationship issues, to name a few. Frequently people seek counselling when they don't know what is wrong, however they know something needs to change. Your therapy sessions are all about you.
I can offer you a safe and non judgmental space to explore your issues. Sessions are set at your own pace for your own comfort. My main experience is working with anxiety, depression, attachment issues, self worth and grief.
My first session
I understand the first session can feel daunting. You may have feelings ranging anything from anxious to excitement. This is to be expected and I do what I can to provide a safe and comfortable environment for you to begin to explore and discover areas of your life and self that may be problematic for you.
During the first part of the session I will go through the Counselling Contract with you. This will outline some of the boundaries within and outside of the sessions as well as explain confidentiality and GDPR. If you are concerned or have any questions around the contract we can discuss this together to ensure that you feel comfortable to go ahead with the session.
The sessions are yours. It will be your time to explore experiences and make sense of events in your life and how they may possibly be impacting you today. I will be there to facilitate change and to support you on your journey.
