About me and my therapy practice
I am a registered psychotherapist and mindfulness-based counsellor, with over 9 years experience teaching meditation.
The roots of my practise are based in Transpersonal psychology. What is transpersonal psychology? Transpersonal psychology is a relatively new form of therapy that integrates the spiritual and transcendent aspects of human experience within the framework of modern psychology. It is a therapy for the soul that acknowledges both the mind, the body, the heart and the spirit.
Ultimately my main focus in sessions is helping clients to connect more deeply to the innate kindness within themselves. It is my belief that when we turn towards ourselves with kindness and compassion, rather than fear or judgement, we can then start to integrate and heal previous parts of ourselves that we may disowned or rejected. By living from this place of the heart we can then start to heal the past and come into an entirely new level of wholeness and security within ourselves.
I work with all ages and have substantial experience working with clients around anxiety, self-esteem, spiritual challenges, grief, career and relationship issues, health difficulties and more. Described by my clients as heart-centered, patient, present, affirming, uplifting and nurturing. My approach is truly client-centered and I intend to meet all clients exactly where they are. Helping them to both be-friend and explore all the ups and downs of their unique human journey.
