Online Therapy

There are many advantages and benefits to online therapy. Since the pandemic working online has become a very popular and convenient way of seeking and accessing ongoing support. Below are some advantages to online therapy:

Research suggests that online therapy is just as effective as face to face therapy

The relationship between client and therapist is unaffected

Clients are not limited to choosing a therapist around locality

It can save time and money due to not needing to travel and this can reduce stress in itself

Therapy can be accessed in familiar surroundings of your home which can support a relaxed and safe environment

The same rules of confidentiality apply so you can be assured everything will remain in the strictest of confidence

Sessions can be attended from different locations which allows flexibility for clients

This form of therapy can also be very beneficial to those who work shifts or irregular hours

Online therapy takes the same form as face to face appointments. All you need is a quiet, private space and a stable internet connection.

About me and my therapy practice

I hold an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy from Middlesex University and a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling from the Metanoia Institute. I am accredited with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) I am a registered psychotherapist with the BACP (MBACP). I have had diverse experience and robust and vigorous training in multiple approaches, settings and client groups spread over ten plus years. I take an integrative approach to psychotherapy which means I pull upon these various theories allowing me to tend to individual needs using specific tools the disciplines offer. I work on an open-ended, longer term basis and also a time-limited basis where specific goals and concerns can be focussed on. I believe that establishing a safe, trusting and mutually respectful relationship between therapist and client is vital to the outcome of the therapy. I believe in therapy being a collaboration experience between the therapist and client and I am respectful and mindful of the life experience the client brings and how we work with that together.

You might be finding yourself feeling low or a bit anxious, sad and maybe lonely. You might be having pressures at work, or with family or your partner and confused about the impact this is having on you. You could be struggling with the loss of someone close or even just fed up feeling something isn't quite right but not sure what to do. My aim is to provide you with somewhere safe and confidential in which to explore the reasons why you decided to seek some support at this time and the initial session will be a place to explore this. It will also provide a space in which to establish what you might like to gain from therapy and how we may work together and how long for.
