We are able to accept referrals from Individuals, GPs and Insurance companies. We currently have daytime and evening availability. 

About me and my therapy practice

Dialogues Counselling & Psychotherapy provides therapeutic services and coaching to:

Individual clients over the age of 18 on a 1:1 basis through in person sessions from our safe and confidential therapy room in the heart of Hebden Bridge. We are also working via online platforms such as Zoom and Skype for those who prefer that. 

We are able to offer both fixed day and time session slots and flexible work patterns for shift workers. We have daytime and evening sessions available. 

Therapeutic groups consisting of individuals who would like to develop their self awareness, connect and support the development of others. Groups are run during the week and on week ends with no more than 6 participants. 

Practice description

Our feeling is that all people seeking therapeutic services should have access to them and we are committed to providing affordable therapy. We offer humanistic, relational therapy within a safe and collaborative space where you will feel able to be your full self and gain understanding and awareness of what's bringing you to counselling. 

We work with people just like you so please feel welcome to call or send an email and arrange to have an initial chat. 

My first session

The first session may be the first opportunity you've had to talk openly about what's bringing you to counselling. Or you may have questions about how we might work together. 

Typically clients feel nervous about their first session- this is totally normal! Tell your counsellor and they will do their best to help you settle in.

About me and my therapy practice

Hello and Welcome!

I’ll bring the skills and you bring yourself, together we will find a way through whatever is bringing you to counselling.

I have a lot of experience of working with people and I know that when people feel seen and heard they feel valued and this can be the start of new and exciting things.

I’ll be by your side as you take a stroll through the experiences you’ve had and challenges you’re facing. Sometimes we aren’t sure exactly what’s ‘wrong’ (the sun could be shining but we only see grey) and other times we know what we want but aren’t sure how to get there. I can help you work it out by gently enabling you to explore the possibilities and choices available to you. Life is full of opportunity for each of us but we don’t always feel that way. Our experiences can prevent us from living the life we would like to live and once we have had the time and space to look at what’s holding us back, we can begin to explore new pathways whether that’s in our home life, our personal life or in our work life.

Talking to someone who isn’t family or friends is helpful, because you can speak freely and openly about the things that are closest to you and you won’t be judged or given advice but you will feel the freedom of truly being yourself. You might feel lighter because when feelings are bottled up and not expressed they can lead to anger and resentment which causes difficulty in our relationships. Counselling is an investment in your own self, your wellbeing and is the first step in being the best version of you there is. It can be difficult to justify that investment, but if you can, then those around you will also feel the benefit. 

Practice description

Sessions are online via Skype or face to face. 

I offer counselling with Individuals, Couples or Groups. 

 

I also offer eco walk and talk sessions.
