About me and my therapy practice
Counselling is an investment in ourselves, with my role being to support you through a difficult time, or a juncture in life where you feel the need for change.
With experience of time-limited counselling and longer-term therapy across various respected organisations and charities, I offer skills and support in finding a way forward for those of us struggling with issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem and relationship problems.
Having said this, I appreciate the decision to share our personal difficulties can make us feel incredibly vulnerable and require a great deal of courage. With this in mind, I offer a calm, stable and unbiased environment, where we can work at a pace that respects your readiness to share.
In our opening sessions, it is likely we would take a closer look at parts of your life that are upsetting or proving a struggle. From there, I would support you in identifying some meaningful goals, before we begin the steps in moving towards them.
Working with young people (11+)
Through my previous profession as a teacher and experience as a youth counsellor, I have developed a sound appreciation of the worries a young person can experience, including those related to the internet and social media. Helping a young person to explore their difficulties, evaluate their options and come to their own decision is the cornerstone of my approach; something that can empower and foster independence long after our work has finished.
How to get in touch
If you would like to gain a clearer idea of how we might work together and whether this path could be for you, feel free to call or e-mail - we can have an informal chat or organise a convenient time for a 30 minute no-obligation consultation at my practice (at a cost of £10).
