Therapist - Edinburgh

Edinburgh EH1
Sessions from £45.00

I am currently offering both online and face to face  sessions in my office in Forth Street, EH1 3LH.  My working hours are Mondays,  Wednesdays  and Fridays from 10.00 to 20.00.

About me and my therapy practice

Suffering is a part of human life  and at times we might need to face issues such as relationship difficulties, the loss of a job, the death of a loved one, some serious illness,  low mood, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, sleeping  difficulties, psychosomatic symptoms and many more issues.

Life can be challenging and there are times that we may feel that we no longer have the ability to deal with the difficulties we are experiencing. When the previous ways of coping and support by friends and relatives are not enough to offer the solutions and relief we seek.

In my practice I offer a safe and confidential space for you to talk about any issues you might have.I will listen to your story with compassion and help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you can develop a better understanding of yourself and others. I will support you find your own solutions, whether that is making effective changes in your life or change the way you view yourself, others and experience relationships.

Practice description

The issues discussed in the sessions are not predetermined, they emerge depending on your difficulties at the moment and what is important for you. The goal is for you to find effective ways of coping with your difficulties in the here and now by becoming more aware of repetitive patterns of interpretation and behaviour, which can impact the view that you hold for yourself and others, the quality you experience in your interpersonal relationships (friendly, romantic, professional) and the feeling of satisfaction for your everyday life. Sessions at times might focus on helping you to discover how difficulties and experiences from the past still affect the here and now and to learn new methods and skills in order to deal with these difficulties. In my practice, I follow an integrative approach which means I use different approaches depending on individual needs, including a person-centred approach, cognitive behavioural therapy, self-compassionate approach and systemic therapy.

My first session

In the first session we will talk about the issues that brings you to therapy, what are your expectations and goals from therapy and how we can work together. My hope is that this first session will give us the opportunity  to explore how are the things for you now and will also give you an  insight of how I work as a therapist.

I offer a reduced fee  for  this first session.
