About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP Accredited and UCKP Registered Integrative Psychotherapist. I work with adolescents, young people and adults. One of the key things that I try to demonstrate to a person is their own ability to survive and be empowered; by increasing awareness of their own resources. I hope to have a genuine engagement with my clients so that individuals may feel more able to accept the parts of themselves that they find unacceptable.
People often approach a therapist because they feel that there is a problem that they are facing in their lives, in their relationship’s, or within themselves. It is not unusual to find that an individual holds many beliefs and ideas around who they think they are and how they feel they should be living their lives. These beliefs and ideas are often limiting and viewed as unacceptable, leading a person to a place of distress. Whatever the reason is for the distress, the ultimate aim must be to enable a person to feel better equipped to deal with life events and gain a greater sense of self awareness. The focus is not necessarily about “fixing” and “getting rid of” something. It is about being able to see the bigger picture of who we are and how we can build a different kind of relationship with ourselves, others and the world around us. In this way the distress can start to fall away, instead of being fought against.

About me and my therapy practice
I have a Diploma in Integrative Clinical Supervision and I have supervised trainee and qualified counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists. I have offered supervision one to one and in groups, in private practice and within charity settings. I have worked with practitioners from different modalities such as CBT, Integrative, Transactional Analysis, Art Therapy, Psychodynamic, Relational, SFBT and Person Centred. I have supervised therapists working with adolescents, young people and adults.
As a Supervisor I aim to facilitate a safe environment to explore clinical work and any connection to the personal world of the practitioner. By personal world, I am referring to the practitioner as an individual who is involved in “relating”, within their work; where person and professional co-exist. Although every clinician is the essential tool in their work, it is also important to be aware of how each relationship within clinical supervision, the therapy room and wider systems, influence and have an impact on the other. I encourage practitioners to develop and maintain confidence in their work as well as allowing the space to explore inevitable fallibility (of both supervisee and supervisor).
