About me and my therapy practice

Hi i’m Zöe and i’m a fully qualified person-centred counsellor. Are you feeling worried, lost or overwhelmed? Maybe the pandemic has left you feeling anxious and isolated? You may be trying to cope with a past trauma, a relationship breakdown or a bereavement? You could be feeling a bit flat and fed up but maybe unsure why? Could you benefit from taking some time for yourself to explore how you think and feel in a safe confidential space, where you can talk about anything troubling you, without the fear of being judged or told what to do? Maybe you need to feel heard, with warmth and understanding and be accepted for who you are.

I am down to earth and approachable and I can provide you with a safe confidential space to talk about anything on your mind that may be troubling you and preventing you from living a fulfilling life. Its my belief that we all have our own healing resources within us and counselling can help us to access them and find our own solutions to our problems, which can help us to change and grow.

Practice description

My approach to counselling is very much person-centred, which means I will provide you with a safe space to talk about anything on your mind that may be troubling you and preventing you from living your best life. I will never give you advice on what I think you should or shouldn’t do or direct you in any way, instead together we can explore how you feel.

In much the same as we would never tell a flower how best to bloom but instead we would offer it the right conditions, support, light, water and care. It’s my belief that we all strive to be the best that we can be but sometimes the conditions and environment in which we find ourselves in, often prevents us from fully enjoying life.

My philosophy is that we are all human, we make mistakes and we all experience issues at some point in life but ultimately we all do the best that we can with the tools life has given us. Some of us have been blessed with more tools than others but there is still room and time to learn about ourselves and learn more tools to get us through life. Hopefully this is where counselling can help and having overcome my own issues in life, I believe counselling, whilst not a magic wand, can transform or simply improve people’s lives and help them lead a more fulfilling and authentic life.

Counselling will hopefully provide you with an environment where you will feel safe to explore your thoughts and feelings without the fear of being judged. I will be there to support and help you to find your own solutions to any problems you may be struggling with. I will offer you warmth, acceptance and understanding for whatever issues you may bring.

My first session

Admitting you need to talk to someone is a brave step to make, and finding a counsellor can feel quite scary. I’m happy for you to make initial contact via text, email or you can call me, whatever feels comfortable and we can arrange a free 30 minute chat to see if you would like to work with me. I offer face to face counselling or telephone/video platform, in the comfort of your own home.
