About me and my therapy practice

If you are reading this then you are contemplating moving forward, despite whatever difficulties you are facing. It can be an anxious time deciding which counsellor to go for however I can offer you a safe, caring and confidential environment to explore the issues and emotions you may be struggling with. It can all feel overwhelming at times, however, having a regular non-judgmental space to understand yourself can be hugely transformational.

Often difficult past experiences, traumas and relationship problems can be buried and then triggered in the present when there are more challenging circumstances. I will work at your pace, providing a safe space to explore what is troubling you. Putting down the weight you are carrying and sharing the load can often feel like a relief.

It may feel hard to find yourself amongst the turbulence of life, however having a space to talk without judgement can be really powerful. It can facilitate a more in-depth understanding and awareness of yourself. This will then support you to work towards a more fulfilling and peaceful life.

Counselling is more important than ever with the ongoing pandemic, having regular sessions remotely can be very beneficial and supportive in helping to manage how you are feeling and what has been triggered by this unsettling time.

Practice description

I am a Psychodynamic Counsellor qualified to Post Graduate Advanced Diploma level and an accredited member of the BACP.

I have had many years experience working for a counselling agency providing both short term and open ended counselling. I currently work with GP referred patients and private clients online or via the telephone.

I work alongside University Students championing their wellbeing and promoting positive mental health. I have also worked in a family support organisation supporting parents and families facing challenges.

I am an accredited member of the BACP and bound by its ethics and practice. I am focused on ongoing professional development and receive regular clinical supervision.

My first session

If you feel you would like to make contact and explore if counselling will be beneficial for you please email or ring and leave a message. I will aim to get back to you within 24 hours and then we can arrange for a first session.

This is an introductory session whereby you can decide if I am the right counsellor for you. You can discuss what is troubling you and what is bringing you to counselling and then we can think through whether this type of counselling will be the best approach. There is no ongoing commitment at this stage.

If you decide that you would like to work with me and this type of counselling will be supportive then we can either set up some time-limited work or an ongoing open ended arrangement, dependent on your need, time and availability.

I look forward to hearing from you.
