About me and my therapy practice
My aim as a counsellor is to provide a safe space for people to talk openly about their situation or issues troubling them, free from the fear of judgement or criticism whilst fully hearing and understanding what is being said. I believe in building a collaborative, therapeutic relationship built on mutual trust which has been found to be effective in helping people find their own answers and the courage to take the next steps to a more fulfilling future. Alongside working privately with both adults and young people, I have worked within the voluntary sector providing support and counselling within a local youth agency for 5 years and counselling within a local secondary school for 2 years.I am also a qualified Person Centred Supervisor, holding a Certificate in Supervision. As a Supervisor, I aim is to provide Supervisees the space and time to bring their clinical work for exploration and evaluation to ensure best ethical practice for their clients within a supportive, collaborative, facilitative and restorative relationship. I am trained to use Interpersonal Process Recall and Focusing as part of supervision if useful to the Supervisee.
