Currently, because of the pandemic, I work only online, but may resume meeting people face-to-face in future. My work is integrative - using insights from different counselling models, as seems most helpful.

I have experience of cross-cultural life/work, having worked in the Middle East, and in the UK with people of different nationalities. Although focussed on helping you to understand yourself, whatever it is that brought you to counselling, I have a particular interest in long-term effects of early trauma. From an earlier career in science and research I am familiar with academic environments, which can be helpful to some. My own Christian faith enables me to connect with those who share it, but I am also happy to work with those who follow other faiths or none.

In the first session I discuss in more detail the ways we expect each other to work together, including practicalities, should you choose to agree to more counselling. Believing that in the most effective work, counsellor and client need to have a measure of mutual trust, I always give clients the freedom to opt out after the first session  without any sense of failure if they feel the 'chemistry' isn't right for them, and would be very willing to discuss other options.

I have a certificate in  counselling supervision which I can offer to students or qualified counsellors.
