About me and my therapy practice

Hello and welcome. My name is Carmen and I am a fully qualified, BACP accreditated Counsellor with over twenty years of experience, I qualified in 2002.

I believe finding the right counsellor is vital and evidence proves that the right relationship between counsellor and client is the main factor in the success of the counselling so finding someone you trust and feel at ease with is paramount. I have a down to earth and honest approach and I am here to help you through this journey so over time you feel able to be open and share in a safe non-judgemental space enabling you to explore your thoughts and feelings, any patterns of behaviour and their roots, empowering you to make the positive changes you need for your future.

I also have a vast amount of experience in schools with adolescents, this is a particular interest of mine as well as supporting parents navigating the teenage years. Confidentiality is the cornerstone of trust needed for counselling to be effective and this applies to young people as well as adults. In an initial session with a young person I ask that a parent/carer joins for the first part of the session so that there is transparency and understanding around the boundaries of confidentiality.

I am also a qualified clinical counselling supervisor offering supervision to counsellors who are qualified and also those still in their training. I also offer supervision to pastoral staff in schools and other organisations. I believe supervision should be a collaborative experience where you feel supported, never judged and able to share your successes as well as the challenges.

About me and my therapy practice

Hello and welcome. My name is Carmen and I have been a counsellor for over twenty years. I am also an experienced, qualified clinical Supervisor.

I am passionate about good supervision as this enables us to be the best we can be as counsellors.

I offer supervision to qualified counsellors as well as those in training. I also offer supervision to pastoral staff in schools and other organisations.

I believe supervision is a collaborative experience where you should feel supported, never judged and able to talk about your successes as well as your challenges. I also feel that you should feel able to talk about issues outside of your work that impact your work, counselling is challenging work and sometimes issues in our personal lives can impact our work too.

I have a down to earth, honest and supportive approach, supervision is something every counsellor should look forward to!
