About me and my therapy practice

You might have thought of coming to therapy for a while or it may be a recent idea. In either case, I am here to listen to whatever is burdening you and to explore how we can make life a little easier. No problem is too big or small.
Within our therapy sessions I will give you time just for you, offering a safe and calming space for your experiences to be shared, heard and respected. My aim is to work alongside you to gain new perspective, effective coping mechanisms and an inner sense of confidence and calm.
My counselling style is warm and nurturing and at no point will I try to pressure you to make a decision or to rush you through a conversation. Within our space together, you can expect understanding, curiosity and most of all compassion for how 'things have gotten to be the way they are'.
Together we will focus not on 'fixing' or forcing premature change, but instead setting goals according to what feels manageable and in line with your true wants and wishes.
I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to feel at ease and to live a fulfilling life and and I look forward to getting to know your unique life story and supporting you during what must be a very difficult time.
My first session
As such, this initial assessment session lasts 1, 5hrs, a little longer than the consequent 50 minute sessions.
We will also go through the contract together and if you are happy to proceed, arrange regular weekly sessions going forward.
The first session is charged at the same rate as a regular therapy session.
