About me and my therapy practice
I work in a person-centered way. The stresses and pressures of day-to-day life can sometimes be overwhelming. Without intervention and lack of support, there is a danger of our "internal pressure cooker" boiling over. I provide a calm and friendly environment to enable my clients and assist them with their navigation process to a manageable outcome.
I work with CYP and Adults, with varying presenting issues.
I may use some solution-focused therapy depending on the client and their presenting issues.
Face to face, telephone, online and Walk/talk therapy.
Firstly, the journey that you have taken to reach this point is normally a difficult one, in the fact that the internal dialogue that you have as to why you are looking for a therapist can be really challenging. I believe the first step can be difficult.
I offer a telephone consultation if you wish to discuss your needs and expectations, once you are happy, we can arrange a session. This can be face-to-face, walk/talk, online or by telephone.
Once the platform has been discussed we can look at timings and dates. I am flexible with dates and times and can normally accommodate most requests.
Every individual is different and unique and I like to think that I can support each client depending on their needs, however, I do work within my scope and sometimes need to refer to a different therapist.
My first session
What to expect at the first session? It can be an overwhelming experience not only to find the right therapist, it can also be an uncertain experience to call or email a therapist. To finally meet a therapist is another step to getting back to being your best self.
There is an agreement that all clients are to read and sign (this is standard). Your contact details will be requested. The session then commences. Every session is tailored to your individual needs. For a good therapeutic process to occur the client will feel unconditional positive regard, be listened to and to feel empathy within a safe environment.
All information is stored in a locked filing cabinet.
