About me and my therapy practice
I am a Counsellor and graduated from Kent University in 2012. before this I was an experienced nurse working mainly in Women and Child health. My Counselling experience has included working in two GP settings in Kent; Private practice and Working with Children and Young people between the ages of 11 and 18 in a Kent Grammar School. I also have experience of working with University students.
I am especially interested in Young person wellbeing, bereavement; postnatal depression; fertility and birth difficulties. I have experience working with self-harm and suicidal thoughts. I am also very interested in Trauma.
My Practice is based at my home in Tenterden or at a local practice. I provide a safe place for self exploration and reflection to help the client find their best outcomes. I offer a supportive and nurturing environment, and aim to assist in effecting self growth.
My first session
The first session is a chance for me to get to know the client, and for the client also to find out if we feel like a 'good fit' to work together therapeutically.
I always ask the client at the end of the first session if they would like to continue.
