About me and my therapy practice
Hi I am Sam, I am a qualified and experienced psychotherapist.
Are you struggling with life at the moment? Counselling is about exploring whatever is causing you pain or difficulty in your life, and working together to find a way forward.
I am committed to being with you wherever you may be in your life. I offer a safe space where I will listen to you without prejudice or judgement and will honour your individuality.
I understand how daunting the process of seeking out counselling can be. If you feel like I could help, get in touch and I would like to assure you that I will do all that I can to make you feel comforted and welcome.
The therapy I offer provides a safe, confidential environment to talk about whatever comes up for you. Together, we can build a relationship of trust, safety and warmth, providing an opportunity for you to be supported when exploring your thoughts and feelings.
I believe we as humans are stimulated by relationships and hold the client and therapist relationship as very important in the process of your change. I believe that how we feel and behave in our present, is greatly influenced by our past experiences. Counselling can help to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and have more meaningful relationships with others and yourself.
I have worked with adults and young people in psychotherapy for 5 years and have an holistic background of over 10 years. I offer long and short term counselling and psychotherapy. My practice is located near public transport routes and not far from the city centre.
My first session
I firstly offer a free 20 minute phone consultation to gain an understanding of what brings you to therapy.
If you would then like to continue, I can book in a 50 minute assessment to gain a deeper understanding of your hopes and wishes for therapy and what you would like to gain from it. As much as it is a client assessment, it is also an opportunity for you to decide whether you are happy to work with me as a counsellor.
From this initial assessment, you may decide whether or not you would like to continue with therapy.
