Hi im Lisa,
I am a private self employed counsellor, working from my home office in the lovely village of Aylesby in North East Lincolnshire. I am fully insured, and I am a registered member of this platform.
I am an experienced Integrative Counsellor, initially trained in a person centred approach, and I have worked in mental health since 1998 within private, voluntary and statutory roles.
My ethos in practice is that clients feel comfortable and trusting within the therapeutic relationship, as I believe this provides the client the foundations to grow and work towards change.
I can offer you a safe confidential environment either face to face or online, that allows you to fully express your thoughts, feelings and emotions in way that you don't feel judged. I am empathic and approachable, but not too serious in my working that makes you feel uncomfortable. I myself have been in the clients seat and fully empathise with how daunting it is to feel vulnerability and be able to put trust someone you don't know.
I believe mental health is essential to not just our emotional but our physical wellbeing also.
My ethos in practice is to consider the whole treatment picture, therefore working and addressing behaviours/ traumas that hold us back, but also consider our lifestyle.
My special area of interests are sleep problems and health psychology- this might include working on making healthier choices with food, moving your body, practicing meditation/mindfulness, breathwork, art therapy but also addressing relationships within our self and with others. other aspects might involve looking at our environment and social surroundings or learning new skills and hobbies..
I will support you with my expertise and support you fully in your unique process and encourage and assist you in making any necessary changes you require.
My first session
first assessment will involve some basic form completing - that allows me to understand the clients reason for seeking counselling and any goals or expectations they want to achieve from the sessions.
