Your journey has to start somewhere….

It can start one day, or you can make this DAY ONE.

Perhaps you are feeling low, unsure, anxious or worried…or you might have something specific you’d like to talk about?

Remember that are not alone. I’m here to listen, help and support.

I’ll be at your side for this journey’s duration to help you find the answers you seek …. and in so doing, your way forward.

Contact me for appointment details, I am flexible and will work around you.

Angela.

About me and my therapy practice

My approach is … and always will be, person centred, which means I will be right alongside you, every step of the way. Hopefully, over time, this approach will empower you, enabling you to take the lead in both setting, reviewing and ultimately reaching your goals. From birth onwards, each of us will experience ‘life changes’ to some degree or another. Some of these changes are fixed, much like the changing of the seasons, the gentle shift from summer to autumn.

Practice description

However, other changes can be evolutionary or progressive, placing unforeseen physical and emotional obstacles in our path. This can sometimes feel overwhelming, whether its relationships, work pressures, health worries, financial constraints, depression or perhaps a loss of some kind. It’s perfectly natural to be wary of change, especially when it is not of our choosing or making. Change requires both nimbleness and agility of mind and body in order to adapt. It also demands bravery and determination to face new situations and to step out of your comfort zone and adjust to the new ‘normal’

But whilst change can be unsettling, it is not always a bad thing, because it also has the power to both challenge and mould you into a more resilient and multi-faceted human being. Ultimately, you will not only be ready to overcome the curveballs that life throws your way, but you’ll thrive, in spite of them!

My first session

Before we begin our journey I will speak to you free of charge for a 30 minute assessment, it is vital that we feel able to work together, so this will be an opportunity for you to ask me any questions you may have about counselling and it is an important first step in our overall process.

If we decide to go ahead I may ask you to complete a short questionnaire, just to give me an idea of whereabouts you are right now, moving forwards we would complete a contract which means you get plenty of time to consider your options and have enough time to fully understand that this is a joint commitment that we will undertake together..

About me and my therapy practice

Hello,

Did you know that, just like the human fingerprint, no two zebra stripes are the same? Although they each have similarly striped coats, it is believed that these have a specific social purpose, in helping zebras to identify each other. So, whilst all zebras might look similar at first glance, like us humans, they each carry their own, unique genetic code. Each and every human differs from the next, in appearance, personality, character, faith, spirituality, phobias, habits, interests, tastes, hopes, dreams, ambitions… to name but a few variants.

Hopefully, if you have found this analogy interesting, I have got your attention!

My name is Angela and I’m very grateful that you’ve taken time to read my profile. Now that you have been brave enough to take this first step, hopefully, together, we can start to build a safe, trusting, respectful and honest connection in a confidential reflexive process, to explore your life’s experiences. Choosing the right counsellor is vitally important, because for your therapy to be effective, it is essential to have trust in your counsellor, because, in so doing, you will then feel comfortable exploring your feelings and sharing your innermost thoughts with them.

By carefully listening to you, I will become your ‘travelling companion’ walking by your side, as you embark on your journey of reflection and self-discovery. I will try to see the world through your eyes… and how it impacts on you, joining you in the challenges you face. Together, we can explore your lived experiences, be those good, bad, or indifferent, both within the counselling space and beyond it.
