About me and my therapy practice

Currently offering online sessions via Zoom or by telephone.

If you are dealing with depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship breakdown, stress or other problems which are causing you difficulty, I offer a safe and confidential space for you to explore these issues and help you find ways to address them. I am a fully qualified BACP Accredited Counsellor, with over 13 years' experience in the NHS, and Charity sector. I offer a warm, inviting, and non-judgmental space, where we can work together towards the best outcomes for you. I am a psychodynamic counsellor, but draw on various practices to tailor my approach to your requirements. My therapy room is in Theydon Bois Village, just a 5 minute walk from Theydon Bois Central Line station. Please contact me for a free 10 min consultation to discuss if counselling is appropriate for you. Reduced fees are available for counselling trainees.

Practice description

The counsellor: I am a BACP Accredited and Registered Counsellor, bound by its BACP code of ethics and practice and subject to its complaint procedure. I work with clients on a once a week basis and would require you to commit to attending on a weekly basis. Once we agree our appointments I will hold the agreed time and day for you.

I am committed to providing a safe, therapeutic environment for my clients, where together we can find ways to enabling you to: make changes to improve quality of life; manage a stressful situation differently; and cope in times of crisis.

My first session

Your First Session: The assessment session will give us an opportunity to get to know each other and assess if we believe we can work together in a way that will be helpful to you. I will ask some questions to help me understand you and your situation better. I will also ask about your general health and the contact details of your GP. At the end of the assessment we will consider next steps: we may decide to organise more sessions straight away, or you many wish to go away and think about this further. I will also consider if I have the appropriate skills to work with you. If I feel that another type of therapy or someone with different skills to mine would be better suited to you I will discuss this with you.
