About me and my therapy practice

Are you looking for a person who you can share your thoughts and feelings with without judgment? I can offer you the time and space to explore whatever is causing you distress and to support you in finding your own solutions. Sometimes we don't even know what is causing us to be anxious or unhappy and that is ok. Together we can figure that out.

A particular interest of mine is working with experiences of anxiety. When anxiety is experiences intensely for prolonged periods of time it can feel as if you will never be able to live a ‘normal’ life again. This is untrue, experiences of anxiety can be managed. It may take some time and exploration but it can be achieved. 

I have experience of working with a range of mental health difficulties which includes anxiety, depression, self harm, trauma, unwanted thoughts and addictions. I know that it can be frightening to talk about and I offer a warm approach to make you feel as comfortable as possible. There is no pressure or expectations to discuss what you need to until you are ready.

Practice description

Trust is a big part of allowing you to explore your inner most thoughts and feelings which is why the pace of the sessions is determined by you. It is important that you feel safe and supported if therapy is to allow you to achieve your wishes or goals in life.

Counselling can be a life changing experience when conducted at the appropriate time, for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and maybe fears. It is also important to find the right counsellor to go through that experience with you.

I am currently offering online and telephone counselling and various times are available to suit needs. I am also able to offer face to face sessions within an office space at Talbot Green, Pontyclun. The sessions are 1 hour and are payable at £45.00 per session. My first session

In the first session we will discuss your expectations and requirements for counselling. It is also a time to share any worries or concerns that you have in regards to what therapy is. We will also discuss certain elements that are required from both you and myself to create a safe and effective working relationship. This is to ensure that I am able to provide the best service to you.

Things to consider;

1. The right time-are you able to commit to regular sessions. Is it the right time to share your challenges or worries. 

2. The right place-Face to Face/Remote (online/telephone)

3. Knowledge of what it is you would like to discuss and an idea of what you would like to achieve.

4. The right way-a directive or an explorative approach. 

The approach that I offer is one that is explorative and supportive of you in the ‘driving seat’. All sessions are either online (zoom) or via the telephone.
