About me and my therapy practice
Hi - my name is Sara, I'm a counsellor and therapist. I know how difficult it can feel to find the right therapist and I imagine you are finding it hard to deal with something that's troubling you at the moment. You wouldn't be here otherwise. Taking the first to find the right therapist is sometimes the hardest step.
I specialise in working with clients struggling with feelings of anxiety, anger and depression who have found it difficult to talk about their feelings in the past. The end of a relationship, the loss of a loved one, or issues at work can all give rise to difficult feelings.
I became a therapist because I have a passion for helping people cope with life's challenges, and for working with those who want more out of life. I'm a fully qualified counsellor with postgrads in counselling and psychology. I've worked with clients on a wide range of personal issues, from diverse backgrounds, and with very different reasons for being in therapy.
I believe everyone deserves to live a happy, fulfilled life. You've taken the first step in what can feel like a daunting journey, but perhaps you still feel hesitant. I'm happy to answer any questions by email or have a short call before booking in your first session.
If you're struggling please don't be afraid to reach out. Some of the issues people have brought include trauma, abuse, divorce, suicidal thoughts, lack of confidence, stress, overwork, addiction, obsessive thoughts, difficult relationships, and issues at work.
I believe therapy only works if you have a connection with your therapist. My approach is founded on building this relationship, through open acceptance, a warm, human connection and a genuine, authentic approach.
I have a Postgrad Diploma in Integrative Humanistic Counselling from the Wealden Institute. I also have a Postgrad Diploma in Psychology.
My first session
I believe that seeing a therapist should not add to your anxiety or stress levels - so I want to take the fear and mystery away from your first visit. With me you'll find a relaxed, open, warm therapist who holds no judgment, there to support you on your journey. I don't charge for the first visit as I think it's important we meet each other and decide if it feels right.
