About me and my therapy practice
Hi there, my name is Ana and I'm a psychodynamic therapist with a special interest and experience in working with those affected by existential issues and a Masters thesis in working with adult children of parents with narcissistic traits. In my client work, I draw on my background in psychology, philosophy and systemic therapy, as well as psychodynamic therapy and attachment theory which looks at the unconscious relational processes between us and finds links between what you're experiencing in the present and your early childhood and family experiences.
Practice description
While I'm especially interested in working with existential issues and those affected by parental narcissism, I'm experienced in working with a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, complex trauma, sexual abuse, attachment, substance abuse, and family and relationship problems.
I feel lucky as I've had the pleasure of witnessing my clients experience positive change as these problems lessened their hold over them and they became more of their true selves. If you feel like you could work with me, I offer online or in-person sessions in the centre of Edinburgh - to request yours, please email me.

About me and my therapy practice
My counselling training started with a person-centred Certificate. After this, I finished an MSc in psychodynamic psychotherapy as well as the Intermediate Level in family systemic therapy, while for the last few years I've been supervised by a transpersonal therapist. This lends itself to quite an integrative approach and is reflective of my interest in working with and learning from different modalities.
Similarly, my supervision training had an integrative focus, with a further emphasis on psychodynamic processes around unconscious transference and parallel process. I am therefore open to working with supervisees from different modalities, but may at times bring attention to the relational dynamics and unconscious communications in both the therapeutic and the supervisory relationship. I also embody the person-centred way of being and have a relaxed, collegial approach to supervision, where I hope to help my supervisees feel comfortable to playfully explore their stuckness, consider how the work is affecting them, and bring their successes as well as their challenges for joint reflection.
