About me and my therapy practice

Offering face-to-face and online individual psychotherapy, relationship counselling, group psychotherapy, and individual/group supervision. I am a humanistic and relational psychotherapist and supervisor with over 20 years experience in private practice, and fully accredited by the BACP.

Therapeutically I work within the relationship, believing that we all hold the answers to our problems even though we may need some extra help now and again to see us through difficult times. On a content level we will explore your wants and needs, your belief and value systems, helping you to find out what changes you can make to bring balance to your life. I will share psychological theories with you, encourage you to learn new strategies, and help you gain insight into your unique way of being in the world, and resolve the life and relational issues you might currently be experiencing. On a process level I provide a confidential and safe space for you to feel 'okay' - to be heard, seen, and feel connected with another, without exposure or shame.

You will have 'good intentions' for every decision you make, for your actions, your thoughts, and for how you feel. Learning to be aware of yourself, to love, respect, trust, and accept yourself can make the difference between feeling unhappy and enjoying yourself and your life. Through awareness, understanding, and changing your underlying patterns of behaving, feeling, and thinking linked with your good intentions, you can achieve life-long positive changes and outcomes without the need for life-long therapy!

Practice description

I have been a psychotherapist for over 20 years, offering psychotherapy, counselling, crisis intervention, coaching, and supervision, to individuals, couples, and groups. I offer a free initial consultation, creating an opportunity for us to meet each other, ask questions, and decide 'where to go' from there.

I work with many issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, sex and sexuality, psychiatric disorders, self-esteem and self-worth, lifestyle and health, phobias etc. However, issues are not people - and I work with the person regardless of the issue they will present with. I often feel privileged and honoured to walk alongside another person in their life journey, if only for a little while.

I am also a professional artist. Art in psychotherapy is a gentle way to discover and explore your inner dialogue, beliefs and value systems. It is a body based exercise that can relieve symptoms, and resolve past trauma through creative expression.

I work from my home, in a designated therapeutic space, which is light, warm, and comfortable. The therapy area has its own kitchen and bathroom, and is adjacent to my art studio.
