About me and my therapy practice

I work in Reading at the Mind Garden Centre on Fridays and online via zoom on Tuesdays

Practice description

I am a UKCP registered integrative psychotherapist and have extensive experience of working with adults presenting with a wide range of problems and concerns. I have worked in private practice, education, the workplace, the NHS and residential mental health settings. I am familiar with some of the unique challenges these environments can present. I also keep up to date with the latest developments in therapy and counselling by engaging in ongoing training, research and reading.

Insurances Accepted: BUPA, WPA, Aviva,

Approach and orientation

I am an integrative psychotherapist, which means that there is more than one therapeutic approach I can call on. Your situation is unique, there are no hard and fast rules, and together we can creatively explore the best way to work. Talking is important, but sometimes it is not easy exploring difficult emotions using everyday language, so I also offer you the chance to communicate using the extraordinary potential of the arts; including sand-tray, imagery, clay, and paints.

Philosophy on Counselling and Psychotherapy

I start from the humanistic belief that each of us has the ability to self-heal. Part of our personal journey is to re-discover the spontaneity and vitality of the child, which is then coupled with experience and insight.

I believe that each of us discovers ourselves through personal experience and through trial and error. The therapy room offers a safe and confidential space for us to reflect on your unique experiences and explore different ways of understanding them and moving on.

My first session

I offer a 15 minute free "Meet & Greet" via Telephone or zoom. It can be a chance for you to ask me any questions before the initial session.

Each session is fifty minutes and is on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

The duration of therapy can be short-term with an agreed amount of sessions (for example 12) or open ended.

Types of therapy

Creative therapy, Humanistic, Integrative, Psychodynamic

Clients I work with

Adults, EAP, Older adults, Trainee, Young people
